...slowly.
Writing is something I can't live without. Don't get me wrong I am by no means patient enough to actually write long eloquent texts, I very rarely finish anything I start. Since starting this blog, I have become a scribbler of notes, a ponderer and a wanderer but above all I have become enticed by photography, food photography to be precise.
I am by no means a natural photographer. My DSLR is generally not an item I enjoy carrying everywhere but I always end up wishing I had, constantly thinking...'that would have made a great pic to accompany my blog' always regretting leaving the damn thing behind. I'm far better at taking well styled photos of food with my iPhone, but unfortunately as you may have noticed on my website these just simply do not cut it, or do my writing justice.
These days a good blogger needs to also be a decent photographer, in a world run by social media sites it's unavoidable. Constantly snap chatting, instagram-ing, tweeting and Facebook-ing a blogger needs to compete with thousands of amazing photographs first before getting someone to read their content.
In an effort to educate myself I have explored food, culture and travel much more this year, I have found myself eagerly reaching for my camera. (maybe I should name it? hmmm Hercules yup my camera is now named Hercules) This blog post is about celebrating how far I've come with my food photos and even though I am very much still learning and have far to go, I am happy that I could (somehow) produce a handful of pretty pictures. Here's to a better, stronger more versatile food and lifestyle photographer!
